When we get visits from our god-children, one of their favorite dishes is Beef and Broccoli. It’s a good way to get then to enjoy some healthy ingredients ( and we know how tough it can be to get some kids to eat all those veggies ).
It’s an easy dish to prepare, and you don’t have to limit yourself at just it’s name. I like to slip in as many veggies into it as possible. The main of the dish is Beef, broccoli. But to that, I like to add in garlic and onion, grated carrot or mushroom. Or if you wanna give it a noodle vibe, add in some spaghetti squash.
For the sauce, low sodium sow sauce (1/4 cup), water (1/3 cup), garlic (2 cloves, finely chopped fresh or powder if you don’t have fresh), hoisin (1 tbsp), Chinese five spice (1/2 tsp), Sriracha (2 tsp) if you like a little spice, and some corn starch (1 tsp) to thicken. Mix the ingredients and pour over the beef and Broccoli mix when throughly cooked.
Serve on a bed of basmati rice (or whatever rice you enjoy) and Bon appetite.
